BELGIUM

A LITTLE ABOUT BELGIUM

For a quick trip to Belgium, one of the first things to see are its medieval towns and amazing Renaissance architecture. The first things to eat? Belgian waffles and croissants. Did I hear you say ‘beer’?

EXPLORE BELGIUM

Brussels might be the busiest and most tourist laden city that I’ve been to (apart from Tokyo). The capital of Belgium has a lot of attractions to visit and our stay wasn’t enough to cover them all, but what we visited were already a handful relative to time.

When you're here, you may want to

Be amazed by the beauty of the Grand Place. See the Mannekin Pis. Visit the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences. See the Triumphal Arch (Monument du Cinquantenaire). See the Atomium.

An hour and a half drive from Brussels will take you to Bruges, a historic city on the western side of Belgium. A day in Bruges is barely enough to see everything, but will surely transport you back in time.

When you're here, you may want to

Walk around the historic city center to see medieval architectures such as the Belfort. Visit the Bruges Beer Experience. See the arts of Salvador Dali in XPO Salvador Dali.

Probably the most historically significant place I’ve been to, Waterloo is where the ‘Battle of Waterloo’ in 1815 happened, where no other than the French Napoleon Bonaparte was defeated.

When you're here, you may want to

Visit Butte du Lion (Lion’s Mound) and the Panorama of the Battle of Waterloo.
